If the TL901 uses a diode as it's sensor, then it's probably possible to bias the circuit to raise the temp up to 315F. If not, I think I'll have a look at your GBC temp controller and see if it can be used/adapted for the TL901. I don't have a nifty IR thermometer though. The temperature sensor looks like a diode but is actually a thermistor, the circuit is very simple, just some comparators, resistors, and a triac to control the heater.
