On my first sttemps, my chip holes were all over the map. this is not typical of non-cnc stuff. One solution is to make a drill guide. for this, you can buy a chip carier with machined pins. drill out the holes with a proper size drill bit. then drill one hole at one corner of your chip and take a drill and put it thru the chip carrier and board. drill the opposite corner and put another drill in that hole. now when you drill the rest of the holes, they will all line up. as for thru holes, make big pads so your drill will deffinatly penetrate both. I think the via's probem was answered by other. Dave
