 It was a 1440 I do not rember the prefix letters as I do not have it now.
This was one of the first printers that used the high temp toner.  I had the model 
just before the 1440 and it worked OK.  When I bought the 1440 it drove me crazy
trying to get it to make toner boards.  I found out at that time that Brother had 
gone to a High temp toner and I did get some trannsfer by ironing for about 10 min.

I believe that rhe HP toner is as good as any if not better.
