Homebrew PCBs

Hi all. 

I am really interested in making some pcbs with solder resist. I have
looked on the megauk site and found the following products. Has anyone
used either/both?

Dry Film Solder Mask

With the dry film I am wondering if i could get away with just a cheap
hot laminator like the ones you can buy from Maplin or does it need to
be more industrial?

520 Solder Resist Ink

This seems to be relatively straight forward. No doubt needs some
pactice with but looks very promising.
