To date all success has been achieved with the Epson because of the pigment inks. Some Canon have a black pigment ink and use dye ink for the colors. I have been thinking for a while that it may be possible to have direct to PCB printing from a Canon if it is a model that uses pigment ink in the black tank. I'm assuming that the Pigment ink is launched by a thermal head. If so then the initial statement needs qualifying. Has anyone done any experimenting with Canon pigment headed printers?
