Homebrew PCBs

I am new to this group, and would like to ask for some help.  
I have gone thru the first 1000 subjects, and have a list of PCB drafting 
downloads to pursue.
I will be making some PCB's later.  I have many years ago made some boards, 
but always the hard way, no low cost computer programs available at that time.

However my immediate need is for an Electrical Drawing program, I have tried 
a couple but they will not allow me to do the one thing that is essential.  

I would like the drawing to be in a Ladder Diagram format.

I need to be able to break the power line in the ladder with a set of 
contacts.  This is to enable having various sections of the ladder diagram to be shut 
down separately with EStop contacts.  Actually I need to be able to do this 
twice at different levels for the circuit desired.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
