Try as many types and brands of paper as you can get your hands on
and settle on the one that works best for you and your iron-on technique.

I have read about people who just use plain, ordinary photocopy paper with
good results. Some others use pages from Time magazine or mail order
catalogs.

As mentioned, and I believe, that the thing that separates to "men from 
the boys"
in the TT technique is how you transfer the image from whatever paper
you use, to the copper surface.
