The 6l is a good printer usually only suffering from multiple feed problems. A lot of rebuilds are junk, many from China now. If you can scan something that shows this and attach to email and send to me at rhb57 -at- windstream.net (in normal @ email format of course) I can see what I think it might be. I've rebuilt maybe 500 5L and 6L printers since they came out. -----Original Message----- From: Homebrew_PCBs@yahoogroups.com [mailto:Homebrew_PCBs@yahoogroups.com]On Behalf Of docstein99 Sent: Tuesday, March 06, 2007 10:07 AM To: Homebrew_PCBs@yahoogroups.com Subject: [Homebrew_PCBs] Laser printer help Looking for some advice from laser printer people here, since it looks like so many people use the toner transfer, which I would like to give a try. I am using a HP Laserjet 6l found in the attic, dusty has been sitting. I purchased a remanufactured toner cartridge for it (because I am cheap). So now the print comes out unsatisfactory. For example, if I print a black and white checkerboard on an 8.5 x 11 sheet, I see waves in the lines that vary contrast. Also getting what looks like some type of alley down the center where some small roller hits the paper and causes a variance. So I was wondering if anyone knows that if laserjet 6L printers are just junk - and to not bother trying to use this for anything other then printing letters, or I should go head and replace the fuser film, or possibly a NEW toner cartridge will solve the issues?
