Ok when I send my plotter simple things like

IN; IP 0,0,100,100; SC 0,100,0,100;
SP 1;
PA 247,353;
PD;
PA 191,297;
PA 185,297;
PA 180,302;
PA 180,308;

It works, but when I set my software to hpgl my plotter does not work,
redirecting it to a fle it looks like a mix of hpgl and gibberish like
this

[]IN;SP0;QL100ROPS10240,8000^\ufffdRO90IP0,0,7999,10239SC0,3999,5119,0ACPA0

with lots of non-printable letters and squiggles randomly dropped in.

I guess its a different flavor of hpgl?

What the simplest most basic windows xp driver to use hpgl?

is their an hpgl1 hpgl 2 hpgl3 type revision?

Here's a sample of what the Pulsonix software I use generates for one of my 
PCBs:

There must be something wrong with your PCB software.
