Don't know about perspex but on this side of the pond there can be at 
least two types of plexiglass from the same manufacturer. One 
states "Transparent to light" and the other states "Blocks UV rays" or 
something similar. Hardware stores (eg. Home Depot) normally have them 
displayed next to each other, so one should be careful in choosing the 
right one for an exposure box.
