You are crazy and i will not take advantage of you in that way ;-) I might be interested in one of your displays, i searched and could not find smaller ones than 16 character across. How wide is the 8x2 one? I am set up to programm atmels here, i'm just not very good with software and it is a task i hate. However it would not be a problem to use software someone else made and on a good day i might even be able to make small changes. How would you go about this? Have you read the elektor article? Would you trash the eeprom? What atmel would you use? I assume you'd use the Maxim TC interface IC? What control method would you use? If you would not need the eeprom and used an atmel i can get that would not be such a bad option. The PCB does not worry me, that is quickly done. I will see what that industrial controller does...
