That sounds like two subjects. Thermal transfer CD printers don't use inks, they use a wax/resin on a ribbon. So there is nothing to try in an Epson. http://www.provantage.com/primera-56300~7PRIT04R.htm Someone did try, the problem seems to be that the copper has too high a heat capacity and so the head can't get hot enough. And, these printers are generally only 200 or 300dpi.
