The container label should have written on it 98% (or there about) sodium hydroxide. "Caustic Soda" is also synonym. Some drain cleaners are just a mixture of NaOH and other stuff so don't get them. Hardware stores are another source. Don't leave the lid off, as its extremely hydroscopic.
