I have no problem with using a web forum instead of email-based.  Most of
the forums I frequent are like that anyways.

I would suggest starting a poll on the web forum, if that option is
available:
 1. Hate it.
 2. Love it.
 3. Don't care, don't mind.

At least that way you could get a better feel for appreciation.
