Sounds like I was imagining this. The Oil based copper is Copper Naphthalene used for painting wood products. I don't know for sure what cupric chloride would be used for, unless it could be mixed for paint color. Cupric chloride is also used as a pesticide in a mix with a penetrating oil on wood posts that are buried in the ground. It keep the termites out of the wood and acts as a preservative. They sell it already mixed allot of the time but I am sure that you could buy the powder to mix your own. It doesn't seem to hurt plants but it sure keeps the insects out of my posts.
