  Definitely it is much more easier. You don't need to modify printer.  In some of my applications I am also planning to use it like that. Only issue is it is highly application dependent if you have bulky components then you need mechanically stable board, in such cases you can glue them on a thick  non copper clad board. During my experiments as I said, board was like paper to thin for most applications it is not acceptable.
