With heavy paper you can speed up the soaking if you scratch the back side with a wire brush or coarse sandpaper after transfer. This opens up the surface and the water can get in much faster. A drop of detergent helps also (sb. suggested dishwasher detergent works even better). I do not think time between printing and transfer is a problem (once the toner is cold it doesn't change) but of course it must be kept clean and free of dust. ST
