Alan, I've been fooling around with Eagle for several months now, and I'm still a newbie! I didn't start using ground planes/copper pours until the last 3 months or so. I've learned a lot this week about some things I was wondering about following this thread here on the group. I'm presently trying to learn the DipTrace program as well, while continuing to work in Eagle. There's a really good tutorial on DipTrace that actually makes sense(except for the names of the programs that are used to make components).
