At least two things prevent it actually;

1. Pads not designed for reflow
2. No solder mask

Again, your idea of self centering may be different from mine. All 
boils down to taste and expectations.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
