I found it helpful having the stop actually land on the PCB, it holds it down im just that critical moment when the drill breaks through. I would do some things different now, mainly use a simple flat bottom plate, and a triangular pivoting plate, with a piano hinge at the back. This would be much stiffer than the open frame i have now. ST
