Thanks to everyone who helped. I'm leaning towards the 1010 as no-one else I know has encountered the same noise problems.
The noise problems that my friend encountered wasn't typical soundcard noise but more computer sounding, as though it were picking up Hard Drive noise or something. Probably just placed wrong!!!
Cheers,
Peter

Subject: [Fairlight-CMI] OT - Sound Card

Can anyone recommend a decent sound card for my PC running Win XP (Pro). I have been looking at the M-Audio 410 (Fire Wire) or Delta 1010 (but believe the 1010s are VERY noisy).

Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated, as usual :-)

Cheers,
Peter
