Series III Keyboard Questions

2014-09-09 by sexsymbol@execpc.com

Hi All -

I've sorted out a couple of small issues with my newly acquired Series III and it's been great so far. However, I have a couple questions regarding the music keyboard that continue to elude me.

My keyboard is the 72 key version that has a C on the bottom instead of the F on the earlier series IIIs. The problem is that the CMI sees every key press as though it's a fourth above the key that you're pressing. In other words, pressing the lowest C is interpreted at the CMI as though it's the F above. I'm guessing that there's some way of specifying that I have the later style keyboard, but that is hasn't been properly set up that way.

Anbody have any ideas?

Also, this keyboard has some keys that need to be adjusted - they don't rebound the way that they're supposed to. It looks like someone tried to start making some adjustments, because the bad keys are all Cs.

If I remove the wooden cover on the keyboard, there is a row of turn screws along the front that appear to be intended to adjust the keyboard. Does anyone know the specifics on this? How to adjust it properly? Who manufactured it? Also, when did they switch over to this keyboard?

Thanks!

Tim
