Hi Howard. The Fairlight "slave" keyboard was a relic of the series I era. It was smaller keyboard without much electronics which plugged into the main keyboard. In a pre-MIDI age, it was designed to be able to connect two keyboards. Since the series III keyboard IS MIDI, you can simply connect the output of the keyboard to a MIDI in port. The Keyboard output connector is 9pin D-type, so you'll need to either make up a 9pin to 5pin DIN lead, or do what I've done, panel mount a MIDI DIN in the keyboard, and parallel both outputs. I also built in a mains power supply on mine, so have a completely independant mother keyboard. Wiring: keyboard 9pin male, pin 2 goes to DIN pin 4, and 9pin 4 goes to DIN pin 5. Din 2 is earth.. Hope this is useful, Regards, Peter Wielk Horizintal Productions in sunny Sydney --- In Fairlight-CMI@yahoogroups.com, "Howard Smith" <hjsmkv@...> wrote:
