Memory board fault

Memory board fault

2009-11-08 by NormLeete@aol.com

Dear All,
Looking at a IIx with a faulty 256 memory card. Parity error LED stays on and system doesn't boot. Is this a common or known fault. If it can't be fixed are there any spare 256 memory cards available from anywhere?
Regards,
Norm

Hi Norm.

Q-256 cards are getting a little thin on the ground... If you can find a Q-356 card (1Mb) from a series III, that'll work fine too...

The schematics are in the public domain, and there's nothing special about either card that a good tech couldn't fix.

If you get stuck I have most cards for IIX and III....

Hope this is helpful,

regards,

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
