Floppydrive upgrade

Floppydrive upgrade

2009-04-08 by Peter Kersten

The attempt described here: http://www.vintagesynth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=45592&sid=d6103fb80ec0fe0448c82b3c9d1d7b39&start=30 ,didn't work out.

The latest news states: "Jean-François Del Nero is currently adding Fairlight Series II support to his brilliant HxC emulator. It's still early days but it sounds promising. He is looking for H/W savvy people to help him with testing on the real thing."

So yesterday I wrote an email and got this reply:

"Yes the HxC Floppy Emulator should works with the Fairlight CMI series (with the IMD file support), but nobody has tested it.
At the moment, the only way to get a board is to build it yourself : http://jeanfrancoisdelnero.free.fr/floppy_drive_emulator/index.html .

Regards,
Jean-François DEL NERO"

My French is very poor. Is there anyone willing to give this a try?
I'm pretty sure the connector needs to be adapted.....

How nice would it be if one could select out of 1000 (0-999) floppies on a single SD-Card......

Regards,

Peter Kersten.

Do I need to say that this message makes me a happy man?
Thanks very much for letting me know that people are working on this... (I realy needed the morality boost).

Cheers,

Peter Kersten.

Please keep me/us updated ;-)
