disk format

2008-10-11 by dd_62622

Hi,

I wonder if anyone has experience with formatting used floppydisks?
I recently found a bunch of used floppy disks that I was hoping to use
for the IIx.
Should I be carefull trying to format them on the IIx?
The disk are ds/dd softsectored and seem to be in good shape.

tehmftwl,
David

Hi David,
The floppies are the right ones, so that is okay........
It is possible that the Fairlight can't format them, because they were already formatted on another system. The worst that can happen is that the Fairlight hangs. Jus a reset will do.
Please let us know how it works out.............
Cheers,
Peter Kersten.

As long as the disks are OK and not dusty or scratched the CMI should
be able to format them - even if they are preformatted by another
computer. If you need help, just drop me a note.

Cheers,
Alexander

Thanks guys!

I am always a bit overcautious when it comes to musical instruments.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
