CMI/CVI technical docs

2008-10-02 by tama_rat

Hi all -

I scanned a bunch of Fairlight tech docs that are definitely useful
for keeping the old machines running (and extending their functionality!).

The PDFs are up on a very bare page at the moment:

http://www.nonmaskable.com

I plan to add more stuff soon. For now, though, you'll find:

The CMI Series III Service Manual
The CVI Service Manual (someone asked for this a while ago)
An engineering notebook from Guy Dunphy, a former Fairlight engineer

I also archived (using ImageDisk and an adapter for the 8" drive) all
of my IIx and III floppies. I'll eventually put those on the site, too.

Joe...you realy make my day

Thank you 1000 times for scanning the CVI manual...I was looking for
this document for years now and began to feel frustated.
Just this week I helped a gentleman in Germany to get the user
manual.
My CVI needs some care and this is such a big help in keeping these
wonderful video synthesizers alive.
Also your succes in making disk images is very inspiring.
Thanks to people like you we can keep these wonderfull machines
going,. hopefully they outlive us alll : )

cheers,
David Kleyn

David,

Great, I'm glad it was helpful -- the CVI is a very cool machine, but
I'd rather hope to outlive it! ;-)

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
