Re: [Fairlight-CMI] llx PCB's

2010-11-06 by Peter K.

Same here. I had a hard time getting cards back in. The tips given in previous messages did it for me too. Thumbs on PCB, not the levers. Wigling the card a bit. Also I used a nail file to round up the sharp corners from the small slot that alignes the PCB. (Do you guys call that the "key"?).
By the way, while you are at it: check battery! I prefer to remove it. (Done so years ago in my IIx).

Peter Kersten.

Subject: [Fairlight-CMI] llx PCB's

Hi Guys

Newbie here -
Ok - this may sound like a silly question and I am sure it is...

I have my llx and just had a PCB repaired.
My question is how do you get the b***** back in?

I do not want to force it,but it really does not want to lock.
I have it the right way around and in the right slots.
It just will not lock in?

I tried to unlock and then re lock Q256 as this seemed to be the easiest one to see what was going on, and you guessed it - I can not get this one back in either...

I know I am being a Muppet - but having waited 25 years to play it, I really do not want to screw it up at this stage.

I am a very technical guy with my specialty in problem solving, but this has me stumped..

Dying to play it - so Any help or tricks would be wonderful...

Thank you
Howard
