Re: [Fairlight-CMI] Re: CMI IIX sampling

I´ll see if I can make some samples tonight.

Also, I´ll try with a microphone.

It seems that the noise is only heard when sampling bass-sounds with decay.
Sampling a steady lowpitched waveform ( like a sawtooth ) from another synth
doesn´t reveal the noise but that is understandable as the constant wave
masks the noise. Even sampling a triangle or sine masks the noise.

Hi,

I think it's quite normal to have quite some noise in the samples.
I always assign control 1 to damping c2 to filter and c3 on attack on page
7
in that way you have some analog realtime control.
with the filter you can usaly kill alot of the noise....than I use EQ on a
mixingdesk.
I hope your cmi is o.k.
with a soundclip others are able to judge..
did you try sampling other instruments or a mic ?

regards,
David
