hallo WT., I gave up sampling at first ..the results where too poor. Than someone one this list recomended a active DI box . I tried again and there where some results...still quite poor. somehow I always used the filter /line input. only last week I tried the adc direct input.,in combination with active di I sampled a dx7 piano and wow..... for the first time I had good results......use the gain, max:* command on page 6 to pimp the sound. I was thinking....those guys who made the liberary used hi end compession enz. enz. enz. to get those results. they prob. did but the IIx is capable of pretty acurate reproduction of sound without any precompression. Realy...try to find the right di box and hook a synth up too it., i used a high output vol. on the synth and the results are great sounding cmi sounds. the (cmi)dx7 piano actualy sounds warmer and has more depth than the original! cheers, David --- In Fairlight-CMI@yahoogroups.com, "WT" <waveterm@...> wrote: > > so...after a couple of months noodling about with the CMI IIx, I tried > sampling some stuff last night. > > First up was a kickdrum from a TR-909.
