Hi Billyrock, Sorry to hear about your qwerty, in my opinion there is no relation between the battery and the fnctionality of the qwerty. I'd leave the battery out, in fact I removed all batteries from my units. I would suspect a broken cable, you may want to start by checking that with a voltmeter for example.
