Today its still my primary drum machine and sequencer and in mint condition. Other Studio 440's I have used have also been rock solid so I'm not sure why you equate the Studio 440 to an MG? With any fine instrument treat it well and it should last a long time and perform as expected. I can't count the number of synths, drum machines, and keyboards I've seen people beat to hell and expect them to work. Maybe that method works for others but I prefer to keep my instruments as new.
