RE: Replaecement of SD-1 Disk drive

A while back I saw information om using a computer disk drive in an
SQ-80. That was an earlier ensoniq keyboard. Mabey the info in that
article might be applicable to the SD-1. I don't know the address. You
might search for SQ-80 and disk drve on a search engine.

Subject: SD-1 OS via sys.ex

Greetings from the Great White and Slushy North...I recently aquired a
Sd-1 with a toasted floppy drive and emailed Eric Montgomery at
Ensoniq/Emu to see if the OS could be loaded by a sequencer with the
sys.ex on floppy, through the midi-in port. Although the gentleman was
prompt with his reply, the answer is a negative, no beans on that one.
Hope this helps there Knut and Stu...anyone found a reasonablely
priced source for the MFD-63W-00D? Are there any ways to crash the
machine to avoid (besides throwing it)? Anyone with a spare manual
that's not $20? Would purchasing an ESQ or SQR be covering the same
tracks? Cheers to all, Keith

> Hi Nathan, thanks for the tip...here's the scoop-
EPS , VFXsd and SD-1 have the same drives, the SQ-80
and family are different drives. So if you have a lead
to a broken synth like the above, parts only, with a
working drive, I will gratefully replenish your larder
with smoked salmon or unsmoked cash...Keith
