Patches and discussion for Ensoniq VFX family

Hope it´s Ok that I use this list even if I´m a SD-1-user.

I have had some problems with my floppys (or the floppydrive ?). One
after one, all my floppys have started giving me error-messages, and now all
of them seem useless. I don´t know if it´s the drive or if the floppys are
to old. After a crash in the sequencer-OS I therefore have no possibility to
load a fresh OS, and the "once upon a time" great sequencer doesn´t work.

Anyway I just heard that it is possible to download patches (sounds ?) and
other things (Sequencer-OS ?) using computerconnection and MIDI. Does anyone
have experience with this ? Can someone give me a short introduction or a
link to such? And maybe some tips of software/freeware ?

Greetings.  If it's an issue of storage of VFX/SD data, the Giebler software 
has worked wonderfully for me.  Not only did it store stuff to the hard 
drive, but converted my Ensoniq files to Standard Midi files and standard 
midi files to Ensoniq files.  There was always a bit of tweaking to reassign 
proper sounds to the various midi channels, etc. but it all worked 
flawlessly.  Giebler can be reached at 610-933-0332.

Since Ensoniq has been bought out I don't know if he still has his software
