As a quick follow-up: there'a also http://www.mcwest.org/~mccreary/vfx/vfx_archive.html which contains a lot of patches as well as some useful information, including a link to a Windows program to manage VFX patches.

There's a set of patches you can download from http://rhythm-lab.com/ensoniq-vfx-sd-patches/ . this will give you a zip file with both seveal entire sound banks and a lot of individual patches in ".syx" format, which is MIDI System Exclusive aka "sysex".You should be able to send these from any computer over MIDI to the keyboard; if your computer doesn't have a built-in MIDI interface, you should be able to search for "usb midi cable" or "usb midi adapter" and find an inexpensive one that should be more than good enough. To actually send the files to the keyboard over MIDI, you'll need software like MIDIOX for Windows or SysEx Librarian for macOS that can send (and receive) sysex files.Best wishes,// ChristianOn 21 November 2016 at 12:58, 'bill@euphonic.us' bill@euphonic.us [Ensoniq-VFX-SD] <Ensoniq-VFX-SD@yahoogroups.com> wrote:
Hi, Jim,There's a factory patch called "Organizer" (as I recall) that has a pretty good Hammond simulation. This is in the SD-1 32 voice library. You can control the Leslie speed with the mod wheel, although when I used it on stage I had a MIDI foot controller to keep both hands free.If you have this patch you'll find it useful.Best,BillBill NiemiEuphonic StudioMount Vernon, IA319.895.8002

I found and downloaded the manual, but it9;s difficult to understand for him. He's looking for a good B-3 sound. Does anyone have it and can tell him how to load it? Also, is there anyone who could possibly Skype with him and give him a basic primer on using the functions of his keyboard? I appreciate any n all help he can get. Thanks!JimSent from my iPhoneHi,
I was also looking into making custom cartridges. Until I got an offer on Gotek floppy emulators with the HxC firmware - having a 1000 floppys in a floppydrives space (well, on a USB stick) is really comfortable. And likely cheaper than cartridges :)
