Re: [Ensoniq-VFX-SD] Re: VFX Rack version

problem thre is it has no transwave modulation so its impossible to do those wavetable type sounds the only machines that can are the
ts10/12 but the 12 only has mono pressure
eps16+ which is the sampler version of the vfx/sd1
asr10
asrx pro
these are the only machines that do transwave modultion are are synth compatible in its features as they have identicle synth params
and with sampling just use the all wave sample which is the hole of the sound rom and use a sample editor to chop up the samples the transwave 1,s are a sigle sample not multisampled and have the exactly the same size wave form for every one of its wave forms find the size of the first wave form in samples and set the loop point to that
thats how i learnt how to make transwaves becuase they are additive single cycle waves with variation over time
you dont get loop markers but you can do your own if ensoniq could loop them then you can the looping tools in ensoniq samplers are excellent and i have still to find a pc or mac program that can match it
what i do is get the sample editor and look for a repeating pattern that looks identical to the last patern then make my loop markers there to the wav file usually in a pc you will get a blip i then transfer the sample to the sampler and use the sampler tools of the ensoniq samplers with the crossfades settings and i always get a good loop

Subject: [Ensoniq-VFX-SD] Re: VFX Rack version

I've thought about this myself and the ultimate way I came up was to sample the basic patch with no effects and build it back up from scratch in my Yamaha Motif XS6....It has 1 gig RAM so plenty of sample room....The sound shaping capabilities are amazing AND it has poly after touch AND 2 assignable buttons.....It does 8 elements so you could even add more from the Yamaha sound engine.....Unfortunately this would take way more time than I have right now but that's what runs through my mind from time to time.......moon
