I don't think You know the Sequencer of the VFX-SD very well then. Most of the things You describe can be done. I'm able to lay down a whole song on a VFX-SD in 10 minutes too. Also, the step sequencing is indeed possible AND easy to use.

I'm not trying to make some kind of competition out of this, but the VFX-SD is very capable in the sequencing department. And one of (if not THE) easiest to use at all..
