I got that, but idiot me forgot to look at how the old one was connected before attacking it with desoldering braid and breaking the old battery connector! :-( what I want to know is, there are two contact points on the board to which the battery connector's terminals were soldered. Does it matter which is which so long as the + wire doesn't touch the - one? Can't I just solder (carefully) hookup wire to the new battery, re- solder each wire to one of the contact points and call it a day? Or is one specifically routed to the + signal? --- In Ensoniq-VFX-SD@yahoogroups.com, tim Sullivan <timsullivan@...> wrote: > > a "button cell" has its + side as the main casing > the underneath is the - side > > so they almost always sit + up based on the physical casing method > > On Jul 5, 2006, at 6:57 PM, justin_s_pope wrote: > > > I found a compatible (CR2032) lithium at RadioShack, but I can't tell > > (or get the board out to tell) which of the two connectors is which on > > the board (+ and -).
