john,
hello ! i`ve been buying doepfer a-100 stuff from en-port since 1999. the
price increase you mention has been recent, spurred by currency fluctuations
of euro vs. dollar. this has been the only price incease in 3 years that i
can recall.
another consideration - if you buy "direct", support is "direct". my doepfer
has been almost 100% trouble free and the one problem i did have with an
a-190 was resolved promptly by doug at en-port at no cost to me and out of
warranty, to boot ! thats why i don`t mind paying a bit more. i have
always been satisfied with my en-port purchases and would recommend them
without hesitation.
best,
dave

Thanks for the feedback, Dave.

After giving this some thought last night, I agree that it makes
sense to buy from Doug and simply (gasp) ignore the price
difference. Doug's a great guy to deal with and I'm sure the support
(if necessary) will be well worth it. Besides, I want to make sure
he stays around at this! I've got plenty of "phase 2" modules on my
list already!

Kindest regards,
John
