Alesis Stealth Kick Pad and Pedal --> Doepfer A-100

Alesis Stealth Kick Pad and Pedal --> Doepfer A-100

2017-04-05 by Diego Ragnini

Hello,
hope everything is fine to everybody
Does anyone know if this kind of system might be used to trigger events on modular systems? It is designed to trigger drum machines and/or drum pad systems which provide proper trigger inputs… Just wonder if the signal should be “treated” somehow in order to be detected by trigger/gate inputs on Doepfer modules. The A-177-2 probably wouldn’t be enough for the purpose…

Best,
Diego

Hi Diego,

Drum pads and the like use piezo transducers. You will need an amplifier with a high input impedance. Here is a link to a circuit for a trigger convertor:

John

And just checking the circuit, I would replace the 50K pot with 500K too suit a piezo.

The A-119 module should be good for this. It has a high gain input on a 1/4 jack, an adjustable gate and an envelope follower voltage for modulation.

Just tried a piezo with mine and it generates triggers.

Cheers,
John

Hi John, thanks a lot, then it should work plugging it into Mutable Instruments Veils or Ears, am I right? In any case I would ask the seller to let me try the patch before purchasing it...

Best, Diego

Cool I have got the A-119 as well! Thanks again, very precious support!
