A-190 issues: no gate output, solid LEDs on power up

A-190 issues: no gate output, solid LEDs on power up

2013-08-15 by crummotius

Hello,

I just purchased a used Doepfer A-190 Midi/CV module and I'm having some problems with it. Hoping for a DIY solution.

Connected it to my TipTop uzeus flying bus board.
Super triple checked polarity of the module as well as the five other modules in my case. uzeus is properly showing -12, +12 and 5v power.

First problem.
Gate LED not blinking. Measured with multimeter. No voltage.
Clock, Reset, CV1, all working great LEDS light up and multimeter shows voltage.
So I disconnect everything but the A-190. Power on, problem still occurs.

Second Problem.
Attempt to hard reset to factory settings.
Now, when I power on, the clock LED is solid ( flashing a little). The 5 Config/Performance LEDs are solid on. no blinking. And the LEDs just stay on.

Any ideas what could be going wrong? is it dead? Are there some components that are potential culprits that could be swapped out?

There person I bought it from assures me that it was working 100% before he sold it :( .

Thanks in advance!

Amos

From the distance it's impossible to make a diagnosis. The module has to be
sent in the module for check/repair.
