Yup, I like the fact that my four-row system is equivalent to a what 
would be a large modular in those systems with a larger format. I'll 
stick with the minijacks to get that advantage, no problem.

I think you're right.  3.5mm jacks are fine and mate with Blacet, Wiard,
AS, etc.

Regarding the size factor, it sometimes amuses me to consider that the
gigantic Moog 55 had only about 28 modules in it -- about the quantity
in maybe 3 or 4 rows of Doepfer.  But of course you can't make direct
comparisons.  For starters, the Moog VCO and VCF are still sonically
unmatched.
