I never really thought about this before, but now that you mention it, the gate LED on my A-190-3 is always on *except* when the gate is actually triggered or released. It's as if it's the "nothing's changed in the last few milliseconds" indicator or something. I think it's normal, and nothing to worry about, anyway.

Similarly, in both my A-140s the H/L/M positions on the switch seem to be low/high/medium respectively, as if they're in the wrong order... but it works, and they match, so I assume it's meant to be like that!

All the best,
Zoë.

I'm sorry but the A-190-3 user's manual is not yet ready. That's why we
refer meanwhile to the A-190-2 user's manual as both modules are about 95%
the same.

The main difference between A-190-2 and A-190-3 is the additional USB
interface of the A-190-3 and the type of LED display. The Midi control
functions are the same for both modules (i.e. the function of note, program
change and control change messages in learn mode). In the A-190-1 and
A-190-2 the LED shows the gate function (i.e. LED = on while gate = high /
LED = off while gate = low). In the A-190-3 the LED is permanently on and
turns off only for a short time when an incoming Midi message is recognized.
It's the same type of display as used in the Dark Energy. Actually the
A-190-3 is nothing but the modular version of the Dark Energy interface.

But I think the A-140 labelling is correct. The user manual says on page 4:

This 3-position rotary switch lets you select the righttime range for your
requirements. The three positions are:

• H (high): up to minutes
• L (low): down to less than 100 µsec
• M (medium): standard mid-range

The terms H/M/L refer to the time not the rate or speed.

A-111-5 without CEM3394 available

2012-01-20 by yahoo@doepfer.de

As some customers were asking and our supply of CEM3394 is running low we
now offer the A-111-5 synthesizer voice even without CEM3394 (100 Euro
less). Meaningful for all users who have a CEM3394 in their bargain bin or
who can get an CEM3394 at a reasonable price. The module has to be
re-adjusted by the customers because of the tolerances of the circuits.

Best wishes

If you still have problems with the A-190 please contact our A-190
