a132-4 power cable orientation

a132-4 power cable orientation

2011-12-24 by andy

So I realised the horizontal power header wasn't marked after removing the cable... Does anyone know which direction to attach the cable on the PCB for this module? I'm assuming the red stripe is parallel to the edge of the board (pointing to the text jp1 on the PCB) but could anyone check this to prevent me frying anything please.

Thanks!

Thanks florian, the red stripe is the opposite way to how Id imagined- its supposed to be pointing to the board not the edge of the PCB.

I don't own a A132-4, but looking at
http://www.doepfer.de/A100_pictures/a-132-4.jpg I can see that there are
two black-and-grey capacitors direct aside the connector.

The grey stripe on the capacitor marks the negative side. Now check on
the solder side of the pcb to which end of the multipin connector the
corresponding negativ pin of the capacitor is connected to. This should
be the end of the connector with the red strip.
