Dark Energy question

2011-10-19 by AS

One question about Dark Energy.

In stand alone version of Dark Energy, accept "VCO F socket" all audio (vco out, noise out, ecc.) and cv control of eurorack modules?

Thank you very much.
Regards,

The "VCO F socket" is a CV input for the VCO pitch. It's not a typical audio
input but of course you may connect an audio signal an modulate the VCO with
the audio signal if you want (e.g. FM from another VCO or "noisy" VCO).
Everything is possible in the modular world :-)

The function of this socket is described in detail on page 13 of the Dark
Energy user's manual.

Best wishes

OMG I can't believe I didn't think of this before.. Does this apply to all CV inputs? Meaning, I can modulate with audio as well as CV?

Best,

Matt.

of course - one of the fundamental ideas behind modular synthesis in general is that *any* signal can be used as a control voltage, including audio range module outputs, guitars, mics, old cassette tapes, a theremin, a circuit-bent speak-and-spell, whatever. you never quite know what you're going to get, but that makes it exciting!

Dieter has always designed all his gear to be able to take advantage of this idea. as long as you're careful you shouldn't blow anything up.
