msy-2 and mfos

2011-07-27 by Andras Hargitai

hello,

i am pretty new to this place, so let me introduce myself. i am from
hungary, and have always been keen on electronic music.
we have started a project to put together a MFOS 16 step sequencer,
which some of you might know well.
my intention is to SYNC my daw with the sequencer. for this, i find
that the doepfer msy-2 would be a good solution.

raymond from MFOS suggests that additional circuitry might be needed
to boost the clock signals amplitude:

do you have any experiences in that situation? many thanks!

Hello Andras

The input option from Ray is not bad, but maybe a little overkill. I
think, two simple transistor buffers (one for clock, one for
start/stop-Gate) should be enough: BC549, 47k from MSY out to base,
collector to +12V, emitter via 10k to ground, emitter via 1k to
sequencer input.
