need a replacement part for A-110 VCO...

2010-10-19 by james.husted@mac.com

The range control on one of my A-110 VCOs is busted - very intermittent and sensitive to touch - does anyone know of a replacement part from Mouser or Digikey or if I can get one from Doepfer? I have the soldering chops and tools so replacement is no problem, and I assume since it is a switch no re-calabration will be needed if the boards are handled carefully. I just need a new part. Thanks if anyone can help.

I believe it is on Doepfer's pricelist:

http://www.doepfer.de/preise.htm

Almost at the bottom:

Miniatur-Drehschalter / miniature rotary switch (Ersatzteil fr /spare part
for A-110/A-111)

15,00

Greetings,

Ernst

Does anyone know a model number for this part? I would love to get it locally and not have to pay the shipping fees from Germany to Seattle (like almost the farthest place in the US to ship from Germany to!). Is it a BCD switch or something like that? - a common topology that can be replaced with another type? I imagine it is not a custom part made for just Doepfer. And Yikes - 15 Euros is like $20US! I would jumper it in a middle range if I knew which pins to use. Right now it defaults to the lowest setting and is not too useful.

The same question has been answered already on Sept. 23, 2010 in this group:

"The switch is manufactured by the Swiss company ELMA (www.elma.com). It's
the 07R series and the order no. is 07-1133. There are several branch
offices in USA (I suppose that's your home country). For details please look
at the ELMA website.
In any case you can get the part also from our Analogue Haven but I'm not
sure if they have it in stock."

Best wishes
