hi list, as of now, any discussion about the DARK ENERGY patchable monosynth and the DARK TIME sequencer is considered On Topic! (as they are little brothers of the A100 after all...) thanks, best regards, :-) Bakis. Great! Dark time looks really nice, but does anyone know, is it just 16 steps? Will it not be possible to create patterns and combine into songs, otherwise it's not useful to me. Not for 500 eur at least :-) /Fredrik --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, Bakis Sirros <synth_freak_2000@...> wrote:

I agree with Richard here. For a "classical" analogue sequencer, this is as good as it gets. If you want more steps, it'll be easy to patch up two consecutive Dark Time's to do so... I'd like to know tough, what happens with the gates when steps are 'jumped' ? Are the gates legato'ed ? An additional feature I'd like to see -- which would bring it even closer to the fabled ARP sequencer, is separate gate outputs for the gate busses (ie. gate output for each switch setting, so you get gates for "on", "jump" & "skip"). Nice machine, for a reasonable price. _g --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, Richard Scott <richard_scott@...> wrote:

just 16 steps? that is quite a lot for an analogue sequencer and for all the possibilities the price is pretty low - it ain't cubase you know - I think you need a digital sequencer with memory for your work? Richard

i agree about the separate gate outs. they are always useful in analogue sequencers... I'm sorry but the hardware of the DARK TIME is already finished (i.e. the pc boards and the case) and it's not possible to add this feature. We collected suggestions for the DARK TIME during the last 6 months but so far nobody asked for these outputs. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer

no problem at all. the Dark Time already has a really great collection of useful features anyway! best regards, Bakis. yeah, I think you are right. But it doesn't say anything on the site about the jack size. Keld --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, Bakis Sirros <synth_freak_2000@...> wrote:
