Z3000 vs. VCO-6 vs. other VCOs

Z3000 vs. VCO-6 vs. other VCOs

2010-06-09 by thomas.strathmann

Hi!

I have one VCO-6 which I like very much for its flexibility, sound and precision. Now I am thinking perhaps I should not buy a second VCO-6 or a VCO-2RM (although this idea is very tempting), but shop around for other oscillators. The Z3000 looks good in theory, but does it hold up in practise? Anyone here have the experience to compare a Z3000 with a Cwejman VCO? Also, what about the cheaper VCOs? The RS95e or even the MFB OSC-02? I am not particularly interested in theoretical discussions, but in experience reports about which VCO sounds better overall, is the most versatile, has the best CV tracking, or provides the best value for the money and so on. Thanks!

Thomas
