Hi Joseph,

 

The Mini-Case has 4 slots on its power supply and can fit a maximum of 32 TE
of modules. You may want to give the low-cost cases some consideration.
You’ll get either 168 TE or 252 TE of module space and have an open-ended
system that you can fill up as you find out what you like.

 

As for the modules you have under consideration: I see a lot of filters.
Filters are fun but if your only oscillator is the one in the Dark Energy I
would recommend getting at least another one (the A 112 adds additional
flavour but I wouldn’t have it as my main oscillator). 

 

Boring as they may sound the modules you’ll miss when you really get into it
are things such as envelope generators and VCA’s. Doepfer has modules like
the A 132-2 Quad VCA and the A 143-2 Quad ADSR where you get four VCA’s and
envelope generators respectively. The A 143-2 can also be pressed into duty
to generate LFO’s. Also get at least one pair of multiples and a mixer
module.

 

To increase your sonic palette I would also think about a noise module like
the A 118 and a ring modulator. 

 

Finally, depending on how you want to play this a Midi-Interface will be
needed.

Hi All,
I am a new member here.
I am big fan of analogue sytnhs and I own few old stuffs.
I ve bought finally the Dark energy because its offer quite a bit of
modulation option in the small rack and CV/Midi transfer.
anyway I crash into straight away do I ve decided to buy some more modules.
I ve plan to buying an A 100 mini case but I am not sure how and where to
start..
I would like to order in the first round the case and some power supply
I would need the help to buying a power supply to this modules:

Xtreme filter MS20
XP VCF/Filter pool Oberheim Xpander
a 112 8 bit sampler wavetable osc
A120 24db Lowpass Moog
a 106-5 SEM oberheim filter
and I ve read the Mini case have only 4 places to fit modules what is your
suggestion?Which one would be perfect for connect to the Dark energy?
orso if I need another VCO and Use the new moduls as an independent synth?
what filters would you suggest to buy which have own and special
characteristics?
orso how to fit the modules into the rack?
sorry for the beginner questions
